Simple Glazed Donut Holes
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt
In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep, heavy-bottomed pot to 350F 175C
Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, drop small portions of the dough into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot
Fry the donut holes for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through
Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze
Dip each donut hole into the glaze, coating it completely, and then place it on a wire rack to allow the excess glaze to drip off
Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving
Enjoy your simple glazed donut holes
